I have Brittle Bones Disease (OI). I have fractured around 35 bones, suffered brain damage from fracturing my skull, and experience daily pain in my back and legs. Now hold on, this is not a Britain’s Got Talent ‘I NEARLY DIED LAST YEAR’ audition! This is all relevant to my new song. Over the last year or so, I have started using a walking stick as my mobility is quite poor at this time in my life, and I am struggling to stand or walk for long periods. This isn’t the problem though. The problem is having my stick snatched off me on nights out. The problem is having to convince bouncers and staff that I DO need my stick. The problem is sitting on the receiving end of derogatory comments about my stick. Besides having my walking stick confiscated by the Driving Theory Test Centre once, I rarely encounter inequality during the day. Whereas at night time, morals fly right out the window. This frustration, combined with reading articles where drunken idiots will push people in wheelchairs around without their permission, has inspired me to write this track. This song is my symbolic way of mooning at the great uneducated who fail to mind their own business. If you enjoy this song, give it a share!
